The paint-job is a
significant highlight of the Tetsujin28. Since the Tetsujin28
is also known as " Ironman 28", Bandai must have gone all out to give it a
metallic look. The dark blue has a very high metallic index which gives it a
hard metallic gleam, and is obvious that the paint used is multi-toned,
resulting in a darker shaded base at the edges in contrast to the principal hue
of blue. No other SOC has a multi-toned & shaded paint job done this way.
A feature of the toy is its eyes which have built in LED and lights up yellow.
You can turn on the LED by pressing a switch on the back of the T28. When you
place the communicator unit to the chest of the T28, the LED turns from yellow
to red. It is quite bedazzled with this remarkable piece of toy engineering.
This is all in keeping with the cartoon, where the T28 has yellow eyes when
under Shotaro's control, and which eyes turn red when the T28 goes berserk.
The T28 comes with a stand like the SOC Evas. A plastic sculpt of Shotaro Haneda,
the boy controlling the T28, is provided. There is also the communicator unit
which has the embedded magnet that turns the LED from yellow to red.
This is one of the most likeable and charming SOCs, if not the most. It
represents a piece of Japanese toy robot history, and now in the SOC form it
really is a must for the collector!
Features LED light and comes with a PVC figure. Stands approximately 7" tall.
